Manhattan Jaspers Men’s Basketball Team Tickets
Since 1904 the Manhattan Jaspers men’s basketball team has been representing Manhattan College in the NCAA. During their long history as a program, which has spanned more than 100 years, the team has shown that despite being one of the smaller schools in their conference and in their division they are also one of the most successful. The Manhattan College Jaspers currently play in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Although coming from a relatively small school has had some thinking the Jaspers can not compete against larger schools, they have actually made it to the NCAA Tournament six different times, with their most recent appearance being in 2004.
Today the team currently plays in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (also known as the MAAC). Their long history of success can be credit not only to the long list of talented players that have worn the Jaspers uniforms, but to the long line of successful head coaches that have led the program during the past 100 plus years. Notable head coaches that have helped lead the team to success in the past include Tom Sullivan, Bobby Gonzalez, Fran Fraschilla, Barry Rohrssen and current coach Steve Masiello, just to name a few. Under their leadership the Jaspers have managed to become one of the most notable and followed teams in their conference.
The team, which is primarily just referred to as the Jaspers, plays their home games at the Draddy Gymnasium, located on their campus in Manhattan. The New York City arena is known for being quite small as Draddy Gymnasium only holds around 2,300 fans. However, many who support the program prefer the cozy arena as it is also known as being one of the loudest in the conference, making it a gymnasium that opponents often don’t want to travel to.
On game nights you will find the arena decked out in the school’s home colors of kelly green and white and find thousands of excited fans filling the seats. Tickets to see the Jaspers play live are often considered quite difficult to get. This is why every fan of the Manhattan team who wants to see the excitement of matching this squad take the court, is always encouraged to buy their tickets early to ensure they will be able to see the team play live.
