The Notre Dame Fighting Irish men’s basketball team is a Division I program for the University of Notre Dame. The team is located in Notre Dame, Indiana and plays their home games at the Purcell Pavilion at the Edmund P. Joyce Center. The Joyce Center has a capacity of 9,149 people and opened in 1968. The team plays in the Big East Conference. The team is currently coached by Mike Brey. In Brey’s twelve years as coach, the team has reached the postseason every year, making eight NCAA Tournament appearances. In 2003, Brey led the team to the Sweet Sixteen, his farthest run to date in the tournament.
