Outback Bowl Tickets
The Outback Bowl has been known for decades in the world of college football as being one of the biggest and most watched college bowl games in the sports. This Division I- sanctioned college football game is annually held in Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. The event was originally called the Hall of Fame Bowl until 1995, where the naming rights for the bowl were purchased by Outback Steakhouse. Since then the name of this bowl game has remained the same, and fans from around the country know just how high the stakes are when their teams get to play in the coveted Outback Bowl.
The Outback Bowl presently has tie ins with the SEC and the Big Ten, meaning fans can usually expect some of the most popular teams in both conferences to appear in this annual bowl game. There is a running joke with fans that this bowl is a favorite with Georgia’s football team, who has appeared at the Outback Bowl five different times. However, there are a number of teams from both the SEC and the Big Ten who have made multiple appearances in this wildly popular bowl game. The Outback Bowl has contracts with the Big Ten that run through 2013 and with the SEC through 2014 to continue to be one of their bowl/conference tie ins, so fans can expect to keep seeing both conferences in this bowl until then.
The event is also typically held on New Years Day, meaning there are consistently millions of viewers who tune in to see all of the action from their home televisions. However, the Outback Bowl isn’t only a big bowl game for fans around the country, but for those who attend the event live as well. Thanks to the bowl’s location at the massive Raymond James Stadium, it is one of the bigger non-BCS bowl games played in the sport today. It also has big steaks for the teams that play as well. Each team that participates in the Outback Bowl are awarded a minimum payout of nearly $3.5 million. In present day the total payout for the teams who participate in the Outback Bowl is around $7 million making it one of the biggest pay offs for college teams and one of the most coveted bowl games that teams look to attend.
