The team has featured 16 consensus All-Americans throughout their history.
Arizona State has two main rivals, the Arizona Wildcats and the USC Trojans. Arizona State defeated USC in their first ever Pac-10 game in 1978, and since then, the two teams have faced off 28 times, with USC leading 18-10. Arizona State’s biggest rivalry game is between the Sun Devils and the Arizona Wildcats. This game, known as the “Duel in the Desert” has been played since 1899, and in their 85 games, Arizona leads 47-37-1. The two teams play for the “Territorial Cup,” and the trophy itself has been named the oldest in the NCAA. Arizona won the last matchup between the two teams in a 31-27 victory in Tempe. These two teams compete in the State Farm Territorial Cup Series where the winners in competitions from 18 different sports are tabulated. Since its inception in 2009-10, the Wildcats have won all three.
