Chicago Sports and Concerts

Over the weekend, many Chicago sports fans, turned to the city’s division leading soccer team as the majority of the city’s professional sports teams were on hiatus. With the Chicago Bulls gearing up to start their regular season games, and the Bears on break until Monday Night football, and the Hawks still facing NHL lock outs, many turned to the Fire for the boost Chicago sports fans needed. The Fire were coming off a two week break and were gearing up enter the post season over the weekend when they traveled to play the New England Patriots on the road in Boston. The team suffered a devastating loss 0-1, but after the game promised fans around the city that they would be pulling it together for one of their final season games and working on improving their defense and finding new ways to score goals as they care up for one of their last home games of the season.

This home game will take place next weekend on October 27th and will mark the first time in a month that the Chicago Fire will be back home. The Fire will be taking on D.C. in an important game that is essential to their playoff success. There are a few tickets available for the event, but fans will want to hurry and get tickets while they can as they prepare for one of the biggest Chicago Fire games of the season. As Fire fans wait with bated breath for this important end of season home game, there is still plenty for Windy City residents to do for entertainment around the city until the weekend game.

The popular rapper and soon to be first time father Wiz Khalifa will be attending the UIC Pavilion in Chicago and while tickets are nearly sold out there are still a few available for fans who are looking to see the artist live. The following evening the Arie Crown Theater will be holding another rap and r&b legend; R. Kelly, who will take the stage to an already packed crowd of adoring fans. The United Center will also be brimming with activity this week, as the Bulls take on Oklahoma City in their last home preseason game on October 23rd. Of course as many fans know, Friday October 26th will also be a momentous occasion for the city of Chicago as the United Center hosts Barbara Streisand live and in concert. The event will take place on Friday at 8:00 PM and there are a limited number of tickets available for the must see event, but fans will need to act quickly to get in on the action.

Chicago Chicago

With the Chicago Bears on a break until the weekend, the Chicago Fire on a break until the end of the month, and the Blackhawks currently on a NHL lockout, it may seem as though there is little to look forward to for Chicago sports fans. This is especially true for fans while many MLB teams gear up for the play offs as both the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox find themselves done for the season. However there was some good news for Chicago Bulls fans as they saw their city’s basketball team return to the hard court for their first pre-season game of the year.

This pre season matchup took place Tuesday at the United Center in Chicago and featured a Bulls team that already looked good for early on in the season. The Bulls pulled out a win at their home pre-season opener in a close showdown against the Memphis Grizzlies. The late game play from players such as Taj Gibson helped the Bulls seal their victory against the Grizzlies and while the entire team looked ready for another successful season, most noticeably absent from the lineup was the Chicago Bulls’ star player Derrick Rose.

After Rose faced a number of injuries last year even while leading the team in scoring, and is taking as much time in the off season and pre-season to continue the recovery process until regular season play commences. Although the game against the Grizzlies was only a pre-season matchup, it was just the lift that Chicago sports fans were looking for in order to get them through the current drought in the Chicago sports world. While there is still no word on the Blackhawks season which is still suspended until late October, fans can be expected to pay more attention than ever to the Bulls pre-season play as they gear up for the 2012-2013 season. The Bulls will have a game this Friday the 12th of October in nearby Champaign, IL against Cleveland and will be back in their home United Center on Tuesday the 16th against Milwaukee. You won’t want to miss this chance to see some great Chicago sports actions during this slow time in the sports season; do you have your pre-season Chicago Bulls tickets yet?

Bulls on the Brink of Elimination after Injuries take their toll

Ever since Derrick Rose went down with a knee injury in Game 1 the Bulls look like a deer in headlights.. While the elite teams are getting stronger as the playoffs progress it seems like the Bulls are breaking down health wise. Bulls Tickets are still available for all games, but with Joakim Noah going down with an ankle injury Fri night & doubtful the rest of the series, it seems like the Bulls days might be numbered.

Bulls tickets are readily available as fans will flock to the United Center to cheer on the team with the NBA’s best regular season record, they just won’t see two of their starters. But having one the leagues best benches look for Tuesday nights game to be a dog fight.
