Chicago music fans got dealt a sweet treat this week when it was revealed that Prince will be adding his third concert to his “Welcome 2 Chicago” residency. The legendary performer was already slate for two shows at the United Center i on Sept. 24 and 25. However, after the two highly anticipated performances sold out, the artist announced that Wednesday of this week, tickets for a third concert, to be held on Wednesday September 26th, would go on sale. Beginning at 4 pm on Wednesday September 12th, Chicago fans will have their third chance to snag tickets to this highly anticipated performance which not only places fans up close and personal with the legendary performer but also supports the Rebuild a Dream program.

However, just because one of the biggest acts in music is coming to the Windy City, it doesn’t mean he is the only source of live action entertainment. In the week and a half leading up to the September 24th opening show of Prince’s residency, the Chicago Cubs will officially be taking over the city once again. For ten days in a row beginning this Friday the 14th of September the Cubs will be hosting home games at Soldier Field as they enter the important end of the season push.

During this ten game stretch, the Cubs will be taking on teams every evening or afternoon and will be facing up against the Pirates, Reds and Cardinals. Chicago Cubs fans will get the ultimate chance to catch as many home games as possible before the end of the series with this upcoming home game series. The Cubs’ home series, begins on Friday the 14th with a five game series face off against the Pirates that will keep Chicago sports fans on the edge of their seat while the Bears travel to Greenbay to take on the packers.

The Cubs will then face off in a three game series against the Reds and finish up with three home games against their rivals the St. Louis Cardinals. The last series against the St. Louis red birds finishes with a night game on the 23rd and will wrap up just in time for the big Prince concert series beginning on the 24th.
