The Colorado Buffaloes started their journey of thousand miles in 1890. They are counted among the topmost teams of the NCAA. From 1948 to 1996, they were the members of the Big Eight Conference. The team joined Big 12 Conference in 1996 and remained its member till 2011. Owing to their standout performance, they are ranked on 16th position on the all-time win list and 22nd in all-time winning percentage with .600 winning percentage. The Buffaloes have always considered as the serious contenders. They made it to the bowl games 27 times and won many of them. Besides, the team has won the Colorado Football Association Championships 8 times. Their success story does not end here; they have bagged 4 Mountain States Conference Championships in 1939, 1942, 1943 and 1944. Also, they captured the Big Eight conference championships 5 times and Big 12 North Division Championships 4 times. The Colorado Buffaloes became the National Champions in 1990. They are one of two NCAA Division I teams to complete a 5th down conversion. In addition, the team is distinguished as the all-time NCAA leader in 4th down conversions. The Buffaloes play their home games at Folsom Field located on the campus of the University of Colorado.
