Avenged Sevenfold Tickets
American heavy metal band, Avenged Sevenfold (or A7X) is a four-person group that came together in the late 1990s. Since their first appearance on the mainstream music stage, the group been bringing heavy metal to the popular music realm with their numerous successful records. The band’s diverse sound has allowed them to not only achieve success within their industry, but to make appearances on the Billboard 200 charts as well; a feat that most heavy metal groups have yet to accomplish.
The bands first major label release, and third album City of Evil gave them great billboard success. After appearing on the Vans Warped Tour in the months leading up their album’s debut, the band received a huge opening week for a mostly underground group and sold more than 30,000 copies in the week alone. The album would eventually be the group’s first gold, and then platinum, record. The band went on to play in Ozzfest in 2006 and won the coveted Best New Artist Award at the MTV Video Music Awards that year.
The following year, the band returned to the Vans Warped Tour as headliners and released their single “Bat Country,” which reached the number two spot on the Billboard charts.They followed this album with a self titled fourth record which earned them major success on the chart and several awards. Then, after recovering from the death of their drummer, James Sullivan, in 2009, the band recorded their fifth album, titled Nightmare. The 2012 release of the record marked the band’s greatest success to date as it debuted at the number one spot on the Billboard 200 charts.
Avenged Sevenfold’s success is often contributed to their unique approach to heavy metal music. Although they remain a metal band at their core, they have shown to have numerous genres act as an influence on their sound. As their albums progressed they began to feature more punk influence and even had some piano ballads on some of their records. Many critics also credit lead singer M. Shadow’s crisp vocals to the band’s success; which has allowed the group to separate themselves from the “screamo” bands in their genre that lack the impressive vocal stylings of Avenged Sevenfold’s unique sound.
