The American boy band, Big Time Rush has managed to quickly take over the teen and pre-teen market in America with their up-beat melodic sounds and their heartfelt lyrics. The band is known for being one of a few boy bands during this decade to help bring the bubblegum pop sound and the boy band fad back into popular American music. The band, who also have a television show of the same name, have achieved great success with their debut album and shown that the boy band music fad is far from gone.
The band’s debut album, titled BTR was certified gold and peaked at the number three spot on the Billboard 200. The album featured their promotional track, “Till I Forget About You,” which debuted at the number three spot. The band has sold million of records all around the globe and had great digital success with many of their albums. Their success can also be seen on their self titled television show which is one of the most successful programs on the popular Nickelodeon network. Even after only a short career in the music industry, thus far, the band has managed to achieve great success both in the United States and world-wide. They have received numerous awards including their MTV music award for “Breakthrough Band” of 2011. According to Forbes magazine, in their first full year after their album was released they made it on the list of youngest top earners for their year, only further proving their success.
In addition to the band’s success on the airwaves and on the small screen, they have seen tremendous success with their tours as well. Right before the band released their successful album Elevate, which was released in November of 2011, they announced they would be hitting the road for a nation wide tour, beginning in February of 2012. The tour, which included sixteen total performances featured artists like JoJo and fellow boy band, One Direction. Many tour stops for the nation-wide event sold out in minutes. To follow the success of this tour, the band also announced a summer-long national tour going from July 5th to September 21, to hit some of the biggest venues in the nation.
