After spending over 25 years in the music business, signer and musician Chris Isaak continues to entertain audiences around the globe with his unique style. The artist is known for combining all types of music from blues to pop in each of his songs and for his love of paying homage to classic songs from the 1940’s and 50’s. Even with more than a quarter century of hit records and smash singles, the entertainer continues to create new music for fans across the globe to tour the country and for his heartfelt and gritty live shows.
Isaak first entered the music scene with his 1984 record Silvertone; an album that had two tracks appear in the cult classic David Lynch movie Blue Velvet. Isaak followed this album up with a self titled second album and then in 1989, he released the record Heart Shaped World. This was the record that spawned one of Isaak’s most successful songs to date “Wicked Game,” which was a top 10 hit in 1991. The song was baked by one of the most iconic music videos to ever hit the MTV and VH1 platforms and featured the signer and Danish supermodel Helena Christensen.
Following the success of “Wicked Game,” was Isaak’s hit “Baby Did a Bad, Bad Thing” a popular single from his 1995 album Forever Blue, which also appeared in the Stanley Kubrick film Eyes Wide Shut. The song was a hit on radio stations around the country, yet after its success, Isaak began to focus on more movies and on making television appearances as well. He created the theme song for The Late Late Show with Craig Killborn, appeared on shows like American Idol and even had his own adult comedy show on Showtime titled The Chris Isaak Show. He also created songs for the Chasing Liberty and True Romance movie soundtracks and appeared in movies like That Thing You Do! and The Informers.
Throughout his career, Isaak also embarked on several nation-wide tours and even joined Stevie Nicks on the road in 2007. In 2012 the singer will head out for several months on a tour of North America where he will be promoting his Beyond the Sun record; an album he created to pay homage to artists like Elvis, Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis who all recorded under the Sun Records recording studio name.
