Furthur: Bob Weir and Phil Lesh Tickets
When the legendary rock band, Grateful Dead, broke up following the death of Jerry Garcia, many believed that it would also be the end of the careers of remaining members Bob Weir and Phil Lesh. However, despite abandoning the Grateful Dead name the two rockers were not done entertaining audiences just yet and in 2009 they decided to form their very own rock group; Furthur. The band is fronted by Bob Weir and Phil Lesh and also features a collection of other musicians such as John Kadlecik, Jeff Chimenti, Jay Lane and Joe Russo; all former members of notable rock bands.
Once the new rock group was formed they made their debut appearance in September of 2009 in Oakland, California, fans were more than receptive as the group performed old songs from the Grateful Dead and a collection of other popular rock medleys from the 1960s. After their successful first performance which proved that the group was not only able to reach former Grateful Dead fans but new rock fans as well, the band decided to hit the road for a nation-wide tour. In addition to performing in some of the biggest venues in the country the band also held shows in massive venues like Madison Square Garden showing just how large of a reach their music has.
During their tour, audiences cannot only expect a number of Grateful Dead songs but they can also enjoy a variety of guest appearances as well. Former Furthur tours have featured surprise guest appearances from performers such as Kenny Brooks, the Allman Brothers’ Warren Haynes, Christ Robinson from The Black Crowes and more. With these guest appearances the band has proved that audiences should always expect something new with every show they do.
During their numerous nation-wide tour performances Furthur has been selling out some of the largest venues in the country as fans come out to see some of the best Grateful Dead hits performed live once again. Although the band has yet to record any new music, rock fans are always delighted by their compilation of classic hits. Those who are looking to see these infamous Grateful Dead songs performed live can catch the action on the 2012 Furthur Live! tour that will take the band throughout the United States and to the home towns of fans both young and old.
