The UK-formed heavy metal band known as Iron Maiden first came together in 1975 and since the group’s formation, the band has achieved tremendous notoriety both in their native country and in the United States. While the band is one of the most successful in heavy metal history as indicated by their record sales; they are also known for their high-octane live performances. Iron Maiden has played over 2000 live shows during their career and continues to do live performances today. These shows are characterized by lights, pyrotechnics and over-the-top antics that made this genre of music so popular during the 1980s.
