As a performer, Jay Z currently holds the record for most number one albums by a solo artist ever in the history of the Billboard Hot 200 with 11 albums reach the number one spot. He has also had four number one singles reach the top spot on the charts as well.
With a record-setting solo career and recognition as one of the most respected and legendary rap artists of all time, the individual accomplishments of Jay Z have alone made him an icon in the industry. However, the rapper has also made musical history with many of his collaborations. The rapper has collaborated with artists like R. Kelly, Rihanna, Akon, P Diddy, Bono Missy Elliot and more. He even came together with fellow rapper, Kanye West, in 2010 to release a record setting collaboration EP titled Watch the Throne, an album that would give the performers some of their most successful tracks to date and that would set numerous billboard and iTunes records.
Even with all of his talents it is Jay Z’s skills as a performer that have given him such a respected career in music today. The rapper will be taking those skills on an explosive world-wide tour called the Watch the Throne tour, that promises to be one of the performers biggest tours to date.
