The musical artist Armando Christian Perez, who is known mostly by his stage name, Pitbull, first entered the music scene in 2002. Since he emerged in the industry, he has had one of the most enviable careers in rap and R&B music and he has collaborated with some of the biggest acts in the music, cementing him as one of the most respected artists in the industry. The rapper and pop singer-songwriter first achieved commercial success with his performance with Lil Jon on the 2002 album Kings of Crunk. After seeing success with his recorded performance from this record, Pitbull went on to release his 2004 record M.I.A.M.I., which would help launch his successful music career.
Although many of the raper’s most commercially successfull songs are primarily recorded in English, Pitbull’s native language is Spanish. He has recorded numerous Spanish single and records and his Latin background and influence can be seen in a number of his tracks. The singer has even opened a subsidiary of Sean Comb’s Bad Boy Records titled Bad Boy Latino, which focuses on bringing Latin Rap, Soul and Pop music as well as other forms of Tropical music to the mainstream music industry.
During his career, Pitbull has achieved Billboard chart topping success with songs like “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” and “Krazy.” Pitbull has collaborated with artists like Enrique Iglesias, Usher, Alexandra Burke and T-Pain. He also collaborated with singer Jennifer Lopez on her chart topping hit “On the Floor.” His second single from his 2011 hit album Planet Pit, was the mega-hit “Give Me Everything” which featured singer Ne-Yo. The single reached the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and remained on the charts for months.
Even with tremendous commercial success, the year 2012 promises big things for the versatile performer. In addition to being featured on the highly anticipated Men in Black III movie soundtrack, and making appearances on shows like Shark Tank and The Late Show with David Letterman, Pitbull will be headlining his own world tour. The Planet Pit tour will take the singer across the globe to some of the biggest venues on the planet and will end in the late fall of 2012 when the singer makes his return to play venues in the United States.
