Often deemed as one of the hottest groups in country music, the band Rascal Flatts has been wooing audiences with their sweet, melodic sound for years. The highly successful country trio has significantly impacted today’s country music scene as their songs have also had success crossing over into adult contemporary and pop music genres. Rascal Flatts is recognized as one of the most successful country groups in the industry with numerous ACM, CMA, CMT, Radio Music and People’s Choice Awards. They have also been awarded the honor of the Grammy Award for Best Country Song for their rendition of “Bless the Broken Road.”
In addition to their impressive list of accolades, the band is perhaps most noted for their unique sound. Rascal Flatt’s innovative style of music samples county, R&B and pop music to create a one of a kind sound, unlike any other country band in the industry. Although their sound is primarily country and folk, their influence from other music genres has helped the band to appeal to audiences of all types, as they deliver songs that are truly unmatched by others in the industry.
The group’s three members; Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney have been releasing hit albums since 2000, with their debut self-titled record. Their compilation of studio albums includes 26 single releases, with each single reaching at least the top 20 or higher on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart. The band has also had 11 number one songs, including “Bless the Broken Road,” the band’s smash 2005 hit. After other successful singles such as “Life is a Highway” and “What Hurts Most,” the band truly cemented themselves as country legends; even earning the ACA Decade Artist Award and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010.
Rascal Flatts first began touring in 2000 as an opening act for country artist Jo Dee Messina, and have been on tour every year since. Their latest tour, the “Rascal Flatts-Live in Concert” tour, begins in June of 2012 and will feature songs from the band’s 2012 album. “Changed”. On this nationwide tour, the band will be joined by Little Big Town and the Eli Young Band. Fans of the famed group are encouraged to buy tickets early as the show is heading to a limited number of venues and will only last through the summer.
