Straight No Chaser Tickets
The group Straight No Chaser made their appearance on the music scene in 1996, and since then they have been entertaining audiences of all types with their impressive a cappella musical arrangements. The professional group first came together at Indiana University, where members began performing at local and campus-sponsored events. After a 1998 video of the group performing “The 12 Days of Christmas” went viral on YouTube, in 2006, the band shot to fame. The video was viewed millions of times and lead the band to re-form when they received a five-album record deal with Atlantic Record. The group is also credited to helping the recent mainstream boost in a cappella groups that has been seen today.
The band began by making several live appearances on programs like The Today Show and Fox and Friends. In 2008, they recorded and released a Christmas album to capitalize on their success with “The 12 Days of Christmas.” The album, which was titled Holiday Spirits quickly became the #1 selling album on boy the iTunes and Amazon.com charts during the holiday season of 2008. After a few more successful albums in 2010, the group stepped away from releasing Christmas songs and came out their album called With a Twist which featured popular songs of the day as well as a song that featured Barry Manilow.
After their success with their non-Christmas album, the band appeared in a 40-show gig in Atlantic City at Harrah’s Resort. The group has continued to release numerous Christmas albums and have gone on global tours, including their 2010 fall tour which took them to 75 different cities across the globe. Even after a return to the Harrah’s stage in Atlantic City, the band decided to do another North American tour, this time visiting numerous cities in Canada during their journey. The tour, which starts in mid May of 2012 has had several sold-out shows and takes the bands to numerous theatre venues. With their untraditional state, and their remarkable success in the industry; one thing is for sure, there is no denying the sheer talent and entertainment value of this all vocal band. With their unique interpretations on classic and holiday songs, their performances are sure to delight audiences both young and old.
