The Black Keys Tickets
Formed in the small town of Akron, Ohio in 2001, the band The Black Keys has come a long way from their Midwestern beginnings. The group’s two members; Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney began as an independent act and dropped out of college when they were founded. They quickly gained popularity in the 2000s garage rock scene and gained a steady following of dedicated followers. Although they are one of the most critically acclaimed rock bands on the market right now, their rise to the top was gradual.
The band’s debut album called The Big Come Up was released in 2002 and was recorded in Carney’s basement. The low level equipment used help give the band their raw blues sound that they are now known for. After building a fanbase of underground listeners and touring small clubs around the country, they signed with Nonesuch Records in 2006. This would launch the band into a much more mainstream music scene as they began to appear in large music festivals and working with industry icons like Danger Mouse. They released a 2008 album called Attack & Release, a successful album among underground fans.
The Black Keys followed this album up with 2010’s Brothers, which marked the band’s first major commercial success. The rock duo and their popular single Tighten Up began receiving major recognition in the industry and won three Grammy Awards. The follow-up to the renowned Brothers album, was a record named El Camino, which reached the number two spot on the Billboard 200 chart. Their latest album continued to show the duo’s unique approach to the “garage band music genre” as they blended rock together with deep soul music and just a bit of modern pop.
After the success of El Camino, The Black Keys had the successful commercial career they needed to launch their first arena concert tour. Their 2012 tour will begin in Houston, Texas and will feature opening act the Artic Monkeys. The tour will take the band through the summer and will allow the duo to reach numerous cities across the nation.
