The XX Tickets
The English indie pop band The XX were first formed in London in 2008 and quickly after coming together found that the world was more than ready for their unique sound. Together Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sim and Jamie Smith have created a unique take on today’s ‘indie pop’ movement as they deliver their fans with a style that can only be described as their own. When The XX released their self titled debut album in August of 2009 it quickly garnered a great deal of attention. The album began getting critical acclaim and started appearing on many ‘best of the year’ lists from different magazines including Rolling Stone and NME.
The songs from this debut album were not only featured on the band’s album but appeared on television shows and in media such as Person of Interest, the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, Cold Case, Suits and more. Their music also found its way into 90210, Misfits and the movie I Am Number Four. As the popularity of The XX began to take off the group began touring around the country and bringing their unique musical style to fans in person. By the time the 2010 North American festival season rolled around and the band made the decision to jump the pond to appear in big American festivals such as Coachella, Sasquatch, Bonaroo, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits in 2010 they already had a massive fan base in the United States.
These performances also started getting the group a great deal of recognition for their live, high-energy performances. As 2010 came to a close and the band started winning awards and getting even more recognition they decided it was time for a second LP. In time for their 2011 festival appearances, the band started creating new songs that were designed to have more of a ‘club music’ appeal and show that the group was starting to mature. The band was only 17 when they recorded their first album and wanted the new record to be reflective of their older age. This is how Coexist was born. The album and its hit single “Angels” proved to be a major hit for the band and spawned a new tour that would take the group throughout North America during 2012 and into 2013, with their signature high energy performances and new smash hits.
