Tool is a rock band from Los Angeles and formed in 1990. They have been labeled as an alternative metal, progressive rock and progressive metal band all mixed together. The current band members are Danny Carey, Adam Jones, Maynard James Keenan and Justin Chancellor. Some of their hit songs included; “Aenima,” “Sober” and “Stinkfist.”
Tool’s first album was released in 1993 having a heavy metal sound, Undertow; later they ended up having an alternative metal sound on their second album, Enima in 1996. Their other albums are Opiate, Saliva, 10,000 Days and Lateralus followed later.
Their success includes; winning three Grammy Awards, performed worldwide and has produced albums that have topped the charts in several countries. They have previously won Best Metal Performance for their songs “Ænima” and “Schism;” also, won Best Recording Package for their album 10,000 Days. In 1993, the band landed a spot with the Lollapalooza tour which ended up helping them with their first full-length debut album, Undertow rocket to Platinum status.
In 2000, the band debut “Mer de Noms” which was a surprise hit that gained success. Tools third full-length release, Lateralus debuted at the number one spot on the Billboard charts and ended up becoming their biggest. In 2006, there next album 10,000 Days ended up being another chart topper.
