Alexisonfire, or Alexis on Fire, as they are often called, is a Juno Award winning band that combines post-hardcore and melodic sounds together to create a unique style of music that is entirely their own. This five-piece band first formed in Ontario, Canada in 2001 and first got attention in the underground music scene. By the time Alexisonfire came out with its first full length album, their self-titled debut record not only got a great deal of critical acclaim but went on to get gold certified in Canada as well.
Since they first burst on to the music scene with their edgy sound and their unique approach to hardcore rock, the band has released numerous follow up successful records. These records included hit albums such as Watch Out!, Crisis and Old Crows/ Young Cardinals. Each of this records would go on to achieve platinum status in Canada and cement the group as one of the biggest hard core rock bands in the industry today. Known for their hard rock style, brutally honest lyrics and their energetic on stage presence, Alexisonfire proved to have everything that a true rock band needed to top the rock world in today’s industry.
However, even with hit records and chart topping singles to their name and a great deal of critical acclaim both in their home country and around the world Alexisonfire made the decision to part ways after two members announced they would be leaving the group. After the announcement was made in 2011, the group followed up this news with information on a farewell tour that would take place beginning in 2012. During this Alexisonfire Farewell tour, the band will be visiting large venues around the world and mainly in their home country of Canada. The tour is slated to last throughout 2012 and will feature the band in their signature hard core on stage style.
During the Alexisonfire Farewell Tour fans of the group can expect to hear some of the band’s biggest hits from their more than 10 years in the business as well as some newer songs from their most recent works. Those who are interested in seeing the band one last time before they part ways are encouraged to act quickly before the Alexisonfire Farewell Tour and the band come to an end.
