Ben Harper Tickets
Ben Harper is singer-songwriter from Southern California and is the lead singer of the band Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals. He is famously known for mixing genres as he is credited with alternative rock, folk rock, blues gospel and reggae. He learned how to play guitar as a child and often hung around his grandparent's folk and blues shop and museum that were frequented by people such as Leonard Cohen and Taj Mahal. When he was a teenager he learned the slide guitar after discovering blues legend Robert Johnson. In order to pursue a legitimate career in music he learned the Weissenborn (slide lap guitar) to set himself apart from the other blues musicians. Ben Harper was invited to tour with Taj Mahal and that got his foot in the door of the music world. After returning from the road, Harper released his first studio album, Welcome to the Cruel World, through Virgin Records. After collaborating with folk guitarist Tom Freund he released his next album Pleasure and Pain.
Soon after returning from a world tour that saw Ben Harper tickets sell out all over the country. He would then release his next album entitled Fight for Your Mind. The album would become an instant hit on college radio and again Harper would embark on an extensive tour playing the festival circuit with jam bands such as the Dave Matthews Band and more importantly becoming infamous for his stoner anthem "Burn One Down".
Harper was very instrumental in singer Jack Johnson's success. The two met at the Santa Barbara County bowl at one of Harper's show. Johnson gave Harper a demo tape which Harper turned over to a person at his record label. The two have become very friendly and have collaborated on a number of projects. Ben Harper tickets with Jack Johnson also playing on the bill have long been some of the quickest to sell out. Although Harper has also gone on to release many more albums he seems to have achieved more success in Europe than in the United States. He has been touring with his backing band The Innocent Criminal but as of late he has formed a new band called Relentless 7 and they are expected to release their debut album in the spring of 2009. They are then expected to go out and tour in support of it. Ben Harper tickets will then be made available and undoubtedly sell out quickly.
