Blue October Tickets
The Houston-born rock band, Blue October was formed in 1995 under lead singer Justin Furstenfeld, and since the band’s formation they have gone on to have a highly successful rock career in the American music scene. The band was originally discovered by rock singer, Kid Rock and they released their first album The Answers in 1998. Later that year, they caught the attention of numerous major record labels and signed with Universal Records, where they began their climb towards commercial success.
After numerous appearances in rock festival and several successful singles with consistent radio rotations, the band achieved the commercial recognition they were looking for around 2005. Their songs were featured in movies like American Wedding and on shows like Life is Wild they also appeared on late night talk shows such as Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Late Night with Conan O’Brien. Successful author of the Twilight book series, Stephanie Meyer also helped the band gain recognition after stating her love for the group and that their music helped inspire her successful series.
Although the band is often coined as coming from the post-grunge rock movement, their music is much more mellow than the stylings of many of their fellow artists. This unique sound, which the band refined during a three year break where they recorded no new music, helped the group release their most successful album to date. The album Foil, which was released in 2006 and was eventually re-released to include live performances, gave the group their first platinum record in 2007.
Powered by their success, Blue October went on to gain recognition on the Billboard charts and to have their songs appear on more soundtracks for popular television shows and movies. Their success has lead Blue October to go on numerous world tours with bands like The Rocket Summer, Switchfoot, Yellowcard and Ours. Performing mainly at smaller, intimate venues such as House of Blues locations, the band is known for delivering extremely personal live performances. Their heartfelt lyrics and powerful presence on stage has only added to their success, as numerous fans of the group flock in droves to see the band perform live.
