In 1987, the band headline England’s “Monsters of Rock” festival. Bon Jovi joined by Paul Stanley, Dee Snider and Bruce Dickinson performed “We’re an American Band” together. The band members went their own separate ways in 1990 and 1991, and Jon Bon Jovi recorded a solo album. It was the soundtrack to the movie Young Guns II or known as Blaze of Glory. In 1992, the band released the album, “Keep the Faith.”
The idea of the album was to begin a new chapter in the band’s history by creating a new sound. The album went double platinum in the US and was number five on the Billboard 200. The album debuted in the UK and Australia as a number one. The album reached five-time platinum in Canada and three-time platinum in Japan and Australia. The album was also a success in Germany, Asia and South America.
In 1995, the band released a greatest hits album called Cross Road. It was a success spending six months on the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart and hit number one in 21 countries going platinum in the US. There were three-million albums sold worldwide. Jon Bon Jovi won Best Selling Rock Band from the World Music Awards.
Bon Jovi released several other albums that did well and were popular worldwide, and he began touring worldwide.In 1987, the band won Best Stage Performance from MTV Video Music Awards for “Livin’ on a Prayer.” In 1988, they won a Favorite Pop/Rock Band/Duo/Group from the American Music Awards for “Bon Jovi.” In 1991, they won a Video Vanguard Award from MTV Video Music Awards for “Bon Jovi.” In 2004, “Bon Jovi” received the Award of Merit from the American Music Awards. In 2007, the band won a Grammy for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals for “Who Says You Can’t Go Home.”
