Dead Can Dance Tickets
Dead Can Dance also known as DCD is a true world fusion band that mixes all types of different musical styles together to create a completely unique sound. The band first came together in the early 19802 in Australia, although they quickly moved to London to begin recording. The sound of Dead Can Dance has been described as many things, put typically includes a mixture of styles such as world folk, ethereal wave, dark folk, new age, neoclassical wave, dream pop, ambient, gothic rock and post-punk. The group used this sound and their unique influences from the musical world to create numerous best selling albums. By the early 1990s the group reached popularity in the United States, although their sound was originally called too innovative by many to find success in the US.
After several successful albums the band released what would be known as their most successful album Spiritchaser which reached the No. 1 spot on the Top World Music Albums Chart. The group has split up a few times, most notably after the successful release of Spiritchaser. After this album was released it would be 16 years before Dead Can Dance would come back together to record again. When thy did finally come together the result was an album called Anastasias. This new record featured some of their old influences, new influences and the same unique style that first helped the band rise to fame decades earlier.
When Anastasias was released it was a hit both with critics and with fans of the band who had been waiting years for another album from the group. The success of Anastasias proved that the world’s love affair with the band’s highly unique sound was far from over and spawned a reunion World Tour from the band. The tour is designed to include cities around the world including 12 US cities and will bring the band up close and personal with the thousands of fans who waited almost 16 years for new material. The current tour schedule is slated to last through February 2013 and will feature some of the band’s biggest hits from albums such as Within the Realm of a Dying Sun, Into the Labyrinth and The Serpent’s Egg as well as new selections from their latest hit record for fans of the group’s new material.
