Earth, Wind and Fire Tickets
One of the most critically acclaimed rock bands in all of music; Earth, Wind and Fire first came together in 1969 and since their formation have become icons in numerous genres of music. The band, which is often shortened to EWF, has received 20 Grammy Nominations during their career and won six total awards. Individual members Maurice White and Philip Bailey have also received individual Grammy Awards for their work in the music industry. Two of the group’s songs “That The Way of The World” and “Shining Star” have also been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
The band’s career, which has spanned more than four decades has resulted in more than 90 million album sales world wide. Earth Wind and Fire have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. They have been recognized with an NAACP Hall of Fame induction and a BET Lifetime Achievement Award as well. Many of today’s most successful and influential black recording artists credit the band with their ability to make it into the music industry.
With these numerous accolades to their name there is no denying that this musical group has had one of the most enviable careers in music and that they are innovators in their field. The band is often noted for being the first African American group to sell our Madison Square Garden. They have had numerous number one singles in different decades and have shown their long lasting impact on the industry with their recent accomplishments. After president Barack Obama was elected as the first president of the United States, he invited the ground breaking band to perform at the first social event of the new administration at the White House.
Even with years of success in music, and nearly every award imaginable for their accomplishments, Earth Wind and Fire continues to record music today. Their 2012 album Guiding Lights, even saw early success before its release with its first single “Now Then and Forever.” The year 2012 also marks another world tour for the band as the group heads out all summer long to play venues across the world. Their touring success has shown that the world is still captivated by the unique blend of rock, blues, jazz and folk music delivered by the innovative group.
