The American born signer and actress, Kristin Chenoweth, has managed to accomplish a feat that very few performers have accomplished today. The actress has successfully made the transition from Broadway stage performer to major television and motion picture star and has a great deal of success with both. The Tony Award winning actress had her first major Broadway role in the performance of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown; however even this award-winning role could not compare to her role as the original Glinda in the musical Wicked. The show, which is one of the most successful in Broadway history featured Chenoweth’s acting abilities and larger than life vocals and helped launch her now very successful career. She went on to win numerous Emmy Awards for her television acting work and gained a great deal of recognition for her film work as well.
Even with her tremendous acting success, it has been Chenoweth’s larger-than-life voice that has had audiences mesmerized for years. However, many fans were surprised when the petite singer with the huge voice, didn’t release her own album. While her voice was featured on numerous soundtracks, including soundtracks for Wicked; and had performed numerous sold out shows; the singer had released very few albums of her own, aside from her Christmas albums and a few earlier works. While many expected the singer to release a classical music album showing off her vocal abilities; Chenoweth surprised fans with a country album.
The album was released to great critical acclaim and instantly became a hit on the charts. The singer also followed the success of her album up with several single releases from songs she recorded for her television show “GCB.” Chenoweth began performing her material on numerous television and awards show to great audience responses and in 2012 decided to take her country singing act on the road. In 2012 the singer will be touring numerous theatre halls and concert venues across the country where she can delight fans young and old with material from her new country album and an array of other tunes that show off her truly unique and powerful voice.
