O.A.R. Tickets
The jam-band O.A.R. first formed in 1996 and found their success primarily with college-aged audiences as the majority of their songs related to the band’s experiences in high school and college. The band’s mellow rock melodies helped them to create a name for themselves in the music business. The acronym O.A.R. stands for “Of A Revolution;” which is a motto the band has used throughout their long and successful careers. Their first album, titled Stories of a Stranger marked their first commercial success, and since then, the group has only continued to achieve success in the industry. Now, they are one of the most respected acts in the today’s rock music scene.
Although Stories of a Stranger, was the band’s fifth album, it finally brought the group mainstream success. The album debuted at the #40 spot of the Billboard 200 and stayed on the charts for a number of weeks. Singles like “Love and Memories” and “Lay Down” from the album also had significant radio play and chart success. What was most indicative of the band’s success among fans was their 2006 New York City concert. The band quickly sold out New York City’s Madison Square Garden for a single concert; a feat many of the biggest names in the industry still cannot do. Over 18,000 fans packed the arena and the band showed the industry just how loyal their following was.
O.A.R. followed the success of Stories of a Stranger with the album All Sides, which featured the popular single “Shattered (Turn the Car Around)” which reached the number two spot on the Adult Top 40 charts. Hot off the success of yet another major album the band went out on the road for their All Sides Tour which promised to be a concert event unlike any other as the band released the album All Sides to all of their fans along with an instant live recording of the concert by way of a USB wristband that concert goers received upon entrance to the show.
In 2012 the band recorded their album King for its 2011 release. The album had a strong debut at the number 12 spot on the Billboard 200 and featured a song for the 2012 London Summer Olympics. The band’s latest record also initiated another world-wide tour for the group that will last through 2012.
