Peter Gabriel Tickets

In 1975 Gabriel began his solo recording career. His debut single titled “Solsbury Hill” had major success on the Billboard Top 100. When he began releasing his solo albums, he titled all of them “Peter Gabriel,” fans began to see the appeal of Gabriel’s unique vocals even without the backing of his group Genesis. Although the band was known for their creativity, Gabriel proved that he possessed the same creative musical stylings even without their support. Much of his work was autobiographical and told fans a great deal of his time both on his own and with his group.

Even though the band Genesis, was based in the U.K., and all of the members, including Gabriel came from England, Gabriel proved to have great international appeal. It was Gabriel’s one-of-a-kind mixture of deconstructed sounds, worldly percussion instruments, unique instrument choices and his sampling of numerous musical styles that gave Gabriel a great deal of respect with critics and audiences around the world. He continued to have popularity well into the 1980s.  During his career he collaborated with numerous musicians in all genres of music proving his talents were too diverse to be classified into any single type of musical genre.

Gabriel’s success as a solo artist also translated into several successful tours. He began by opening for David Bowie and showing crowds that he still possessed the same affinity for dressing up during performances. Instead of the costumes, Gabriel typically wore makeup to change up his image. Eventually Gabriel went on to headline his own tours selling out large venues around the country. He continues to tour around both the UK and mainly in the United States. The year 2012 will mark one of his biggest tours, which will take Gabriel around North America and will feature special appearances from members of the original Genesis band.
