The Go Go’s Tickets
Iconic girl rock band The Go Go’s are seen as one of the most revolutionary rock n’ roll acts in music history. When they first formed, they were the only all-female band that played their own musical instruments and wrote their own music to ever top the Billboard charts. The band is often regarded as paving the way for future women in rock music as they were also some of the first women rock artists to find great commercial success.
After forming in 1978, the band The Go Go’s released their first album Beauty and the Beat, that would help launch them to the worldwide fame in the early 1980s and be their most successful album ever. The album is often considered to be instrumental in the “new wave” genre of music and is described as breaking barriers for other musical acts. The album eventually reached the number one spot on the Billboard Top 200 charts, where it stayed for numerous weeks. Beauty and the Beat also went on to reach triple platinum status and is regarded as one of the most successful debut albums in rock history. The album featured some of the band’s biggest singles including “We Got the Beat” and “Our Lips Are Sealed” and won the group a Grammy Award nomination.
Even with decades of success in the industry; The Go Go’s have recently proven their ability to keep rocking. The band went through a few different breakups, different members had solo careers and they also had some lineup changes before they cam back together to tour in 1999. In February of 2010 the band billed their upcoming tour as a Farewell tour; however they eventually announced that in 2011 they would hit the road for their Ladies Gone Wild Tour that would celebrate the 30th anniversary of the debut of Beauty and the Beat.
The tour was such a success that the band postponed their “farewell” celebration and opted to continue touring instead. In 2012 they announced all new tour dates that would take the group to numerous venues around the country during the summer and fall of 2012. The tour is bringing the first ladies of rock n’ roll around the country and up close and personal with their most loyal fans as they play some of their most popular hits from the last three decades
