The American pop rock band Train, has had a few different line ups throughout their years as a group, but during the past decade have consistently managed to deliver a fresh and unique sound that is entirely their own. Formed back in 1994 in San Francisco, California, the band originally was a five member group, that has now transformed into a trio of performers which include Pat Monahan (vocals), Scott Underwood (drums) and Jimmy Stafford (guitar).
The original group, first came to mainstream success with their debut, self-titled album and rose to the top of the charts with their hit single “Meet Virginia.” They followed up the success of “Meet Virginia” with their hit single “Drops of Jupiter” a single that would go on to win the band two Grammy Awards and help their second album of the same name reach double platinum status. The band continued to record with numerous platinum records and successful singles that came from albums such as My Private Nation and For Me, It’s You. Their fourth album, which was released in 2006, lead to a three year break for the group. However, when they reformed in 2009, they proved that they were back and better than ever with their hit album Save Me, San Francisco.
Their fifth album garnered the band great Billboard Hot 100 success and included the RIAA 5 time Platinum certified worldwide hit “Hey Soul Sister.” This album also berthed monster hits such as “If It’s Love” and “Marry Me.” This 2009 hit has gone on to be a wildly successful album and spawned the bands latest tour, dubbed The California 37 Tour. Along with their special guests Mat Kearney and Andy Grammer the band will be spending 2012 on the road, heading to amphitheaters and music festivals all around North America as they bring their fresh sound to all of their North American fans.
