Weezer Tickets
Alternative rock band, Weezer, first formed in 1992 in Los Angeles, California. Although they were part of a punk and alternative rock movement known by many as the emo or pop punk scene; Weezer has managed to stand out from their competing bands and created a unique name for themselves in the industry. Since they formed in 1992, the band has gone through several line up changes, but as a group they have released ten full-length albums and six EPs. Weezer has sold an estimated fifty million records in the United States alone, making them one of the most successful and profitable alternative pop/punk bands of their time.
The band’s first major single, released from their self titled album, titled “Undone--The Sweater Song,” not only helped put the band on the map, but it is still one of their most popular songs today. The group would go on to release several successful singles from their debut album, which would go on to be certified triple platinum in the United States. With singles like “Say It Ain’t So,” “Beverly Hills,” and “Buddy Holly,” the band showed that they could have commercial success both in the rock and pop genres of music.
As the group continued to release numerous hit singles they also began touring around the world. The band participated in the popular Vans Warped Tour and headlined their own tours around the globe as well. Fans were mesmerized by the bands performances which featured outstanding vocal performances along with the group’s signature sound. After years of performing, the group released a compilation album in 2010 of re-recorded versions of their unused songs. The record was a major success and only solidified the band’s popularity and staying power within the industry.
The success of this album spawned the band to record their tenth studio album, once individual members finished working on different side projects. During the recording process the band also decided to set out on another tour, this time visiting numerous music festivals around the country throughout the summer of 2012. During this concert series, the band will not only be playing some of their biggest hits from their earlier years but they will also be sampling some of the new songs they created for their latest studio recording.
