Famous rock trio, ZZ Top, is one of the biggest rock bands in history. The rock idols are considered one of the most respected artists in the industry, and since their career first started in 1969, they have been creating iconic rock n’ roll music and creating a name for themselves in the industry. Known not only for their unique rock sound but their eccentric appearances, the band is now one of the most recognizable acts in history. Made up of members Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard, ZZ Top has managed to have one of the best careers in rock. The group combines the talent guitar playing and deep rock voices of singer’s Gibbons and Hill and the percussion beat of Beard to create their unique sound.
While there are many impressive elements to the group ZZ Top, perhaps one of the most notable is that the band has maintained the same members for more than 40 years; a feat most rock bands cannot claim. They also have “ZZ Top Day,” in their home state ofTexas that was declared in 1991 to honor the band’s success. During their long career together, the group has recorded more than 14 successful studio albums. The group has had developed a massive fan base from all over the globe and their numerous successful world tours have shown the band’s massive success.
ZZ Top has also gone on to sell more than 25 million albums in the United States alone. During their career they managed to obtain numerous accomplishments with their studio albums. This includes six number one singles; four gold records, three platinum, two multi-platinum albums and one diamond album. In 2004, their impressive achievements in the industry earned the group an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Fans should have no fear about the band slowing down either. In 2012 they will head out on the road once again for their Gang of Outlaws Tour. This tour will take the band around the country with band Three Doors Down. Days after the band wraps up this tour, they will head out on a global tour of their own across numerous countries around the world, as they continue to entertain their fans with their high-energy rock performances.
