The band released their debut studio album, Whatever People Say I Am That’s What I’m Not in 2006 and it quickly became the fastest-selling debut album in British music history and the record continues to hold that title. This album not only granted the band with commercial success after years of underground fame, but it also produced two number one singles as well.
The Arctic Monkeys followed up their first album with their sophomore releases just a year later. This album Favourite Worst Nightmare shot straight to the top spot on the album charts. Fans were also given a chance to see the band flex their creative muscles as they delivered audiences with an entirely new sound when compared to their first release. The album also won the band numerous awards and critical acclaim.

The success of this album caused the band to head out on their worldwide “Humbug Tour” which began in January 2009, followed by their headlining act at the Reading and Leeds Festival which lasted through April of 2010.
Even with the success of their back to back tours and album releases, the band released yet another album in 2011. The album Suck It and See, was another huge success for the group and it created yet another worldwide tour. This tour, the “Suck It and See Tour” began in 2011 with dates reaching through the end of summer 2012 and features both older tracks and songs the band is planning for their 2012 album. The tour will take the Arctic Monkeys to several countries and features several North American legs of the tour so that fans outside of their native area can see the band perform live.
