Soundgarden Tickets
The group Soundgarden is an American rock band that formed out of popular Seattle grunge movement in the 1980s. The grunge group, which was formed under the supervision of lead singer Chris Cornell, in 1984, was instrumental in establishing the grunge movement of the time period and helped make Seattle the capital of this unique style of rock music.
Soundgarden not only helped establish grunge music but also helped bring this style of music to commercial success as they were the first grunge band to ever sign to a major label. Along with bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam, Soundgarden helped establish grunge music as one of the most popular types of music of the 1990s. The band has sold an estimated 9 million records in the United States and an estimated 21 million records worldwide in their career thus far.
The group’s first big success came with their 1994 album titled Superunkown. The band debuted at the number one spot on the Billboard charts and included singles like “Black Hole Sun” and “Spoonman” which both won the band Grammy Awards. However, even with their success, the group eventually broke up in 1997 after disagreements with creative direction. Fortunately for fans of the wildly successful grunge band, the group reunited in 2010 to find they had the same knack for creating hit music. Their 2011 song “Black Rain” earned the band a Grammy Award nomination for Best Hard Rock Performance.
The band’s reunion brought additional success to Soundgarden as well. They made appearances on shows like Conan O’Brien, appeared in numerous live music festivals and even recorded a song for the Blockbuster hit movie The Avengers. The group found that even with a twelve year hiatus, their unique blend of grunge and alternative rock still appealed to audiences around the world.
Hot off their success from their reunion album, the band decided to hit the road once again to bring their high-energy performances to fans around the world. In 2012 the band will embark on a tour of the globe and visit fans across the world to play some of their most famous songs from their earlier albums and to delight fans with new material as well.
