The Nebraska Cornhuskers were established in 1869. They defeated the Omaha YMCA on Thanksgiving Day by a score of 10-0 on November 27, 1890. The Cornhuskers won three national championships in four seasons ranging from 1946–49 seasons. Apart from this, they had won the national titles back-to-back in 1994 and 1995 season. The record stills stand as the only consensus back-to-back national titles by any Division 1-A school since Oklahoma in 1956-57. During 1993-97 seasons, the team set a 60–3–0 record. In 1995, the team was referred to as the greatest team of all time. Their success story does not end here. The Nebraska Cornhuskers had 5 undefeated seasons (1902, 1903, 1913, 1914, and 1915). Head coach Ewald O. Stiehm, posted a 34-game unbeaten streak between 1912 and 1916. The team currently holds the record for the most consecutive sold out home games. They celebrated their 318th sellout on November 25, 2011, the team played host to the University of Iowa. The team left the Big 12 and joined the Big Ten Conference in 2011 season. Since the establishment of the Cornhuskers, they have won 43 conference titles. The Nebraska Cornhuskers play their home games at Memorial Stadium, Lincoln.
