The Carolina has made it to the bowl games 29 times since their formation. They have won three Southern Conference championships and five Atlantic Coast Conference titles. The team is considered as the serious contenders in the league. Their success story does not end here. Almost thirty players of the team have been honored as first-team All-Americas on 38 occasions. The North Carolina Tar Heels had 32 All-Southern Conference selections until 1952. They joined the ACC in 1953 and had 174 first-team All-ACC choices. The North Carolina made it to the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl in 2010. They faced Tennessee Volunteers and defeated them by a score of 30-27. The North Carolina Tar Heels have won five conference championships after joining Atlantic Coast Conference in 1953. The team play their home games at Kenan Memorial Stadium.
