Oregon Ducks History
The Oregon Ducks were established in 1893. The team played their first game on March 24, 1894 against Albany College under the head coach Cal Young. The Ducks defeated them by a score of 44–2. Cal Young was replaced by Percy Benson in the following season. The team posted an undefeated season in 1894. They won all four of its games. The Oregon Dcuks left the state for the first time in 1899 to battle with California Golden Bears in Berkeley, California. The 1910 season saw one of the bright spots of the team. They defeated the University of Puget Sound by a huge score of 115–0. In the 1916 season, the Oregon went undefeated with five wins and one tie under head coach Hugo Bezdek. He was replaced by Shy Huntington in 1918. Prince G. "Prink” Callison was hired as the head coach of the team in 1932. Callison led the Webfoots to a 9–1 mark and Pacific Coast Conference co-championship in the following season. This was their best record in school history until 2001. The Webfoots have won 10 conference titles since their formation in 1893. The Oregon Ducks play their home games at Autzen Stadium. It is located in Eugene, Oregon.
