Nestled in Arizona, the city of Phoenix isn’t only one of the largest cities in the state, but has more attractions than any other town in the state. As the sixth most populated city in the United States there are a number of restaurants, unique neighborhoods, museums and entertainment venues in the city. Phoenix is known primarily for its famous political culture and for its desert like climate. Several large companies are also stationed in the city which has made the city’s climate very stable and helped bring in more occupants to the area. The city of Phoenix has several professional sports teams. Perhaps their most famous and successful team is the NBA professional basketball team, the Phoenix Suns. Those who want to see the team live in action can buy tickets to see them play their home games at the US Airways Center. There is also the Arizona Cardinals professional football team. They play in the Western Division of the NFL and actually hold their games in the nearby suburb of Glendale at the University of Phoenix Stadium. Baseball fans can see the Arizona Diamondbacks play in Phoenix and tickets to their home games at downtown Chase Field can be purchased throughout the summer baseball season. The city is also home to several major NASCAR events every year.
Phoenix is not only home to professional sports teams, but the city is also home to a number of opportunities to see live musical and theatrical performances. These are primarily found in downtown Phoenix and nearby Scottsdale. Those interested in seeing live music concerts can enjoy concerts in many of the city’s smaller more intimate venues around the city as well as bigger concerts in some of the city’s larger amphitheaters. This includes arenas like the US Airways Center the Cricket WIreless Pavillion, Jobing.com Arena and the Comercia Theater. These have all been stops for some of the biggest tours in music history.
The Phoenix Symphony Hall, located in downtown hosts the Arizona Opera, Ballet Arizona, the and the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra. Tickets can also be purchased to see theatrical events and the Phoenix Metropolitan Opera perform at the downtown Orpheum Theatre.
