Arizona Cardinals Tickets
The city of Glendale, Arizona, a suburb of Phoenix is where you can find the professional American Football team known as the Arizona Cardinals. These Western Division NFC members are one of the most established football teams in the league today thanks to their history which dates back to pre-1900. The team was actually founded in 1898 and are the oldest continuously run professional football team in the United States today. They are also one of the founding members of the NFL and have been part of the league since 1920. The team actually played many years in Chicago under the name the Chicago Cardinals. The team moved to St. Louis in 1960, where they played for 27 years before moving to Tempe, Arizona and then eventually came to the greater Phoenix area.
To date, the Arizona Cardinals have won two NFL Championships, a conference championship in 2008, six division championships and made eight different playoff appearances. They have played at a number of home stadiums throughout their career as well. However, since 2006 they have called their home the University of Phoenix Stadium and have remained in Glendale, Arizona. During this long and expansive history the Cardinals have also seen some of the greatest record-setting players ever to come through their organization. This includes players such as Jim Hart, Ottis Anderson, Larry Wilson and Larry Fitzgerald. They have also had 13 different players in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. One of the most notable and one of the only players to be credited to the organization while in the state of Arizona is Emmitt Smith.
In addition to having all of these notable Pro Football Hall of Fame members, the team has also retired the numbers of some of their greatest players including Larry WIlson, Pat Tilman, Stan Mauldin, J.V. Cain and Marshall Goldberg. These players are more can all be seen in the University of Phoenix stadium in the arena’s Ring of Honor. This area of the stadium was added in 2006 to commemorate the opening of the stadium and features some of the greatest owners, coaches and players to ever represent the Cardinals.
