Federated Auto Parts 400 Tickets
Every year, for the past five decades, stock car fans have gathered in Richmond, Virginia to witness the massive race that is the Federated Auto Parts 400. The event, which is held at the Richmond International Raceway in Richmond Virginia is part of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and is one of the most important in the races in the entire event. Since 2004, this race has been the last regular season race in NASCAR. This means that following the race, the top twelve drivers will advance on to the Chase for the Sprint Cup, a ten race event that eventually leads to a Sprint Cup winner.
The race started in 1958 as a 100 mile race and during its long history, has gone through several names. For many years (2000-2009) the rase was sponsored by Chevrolet although it had several different names, including the Chevy Rock and Roll 400. In the year 2012, the race promotional naming rights were purchased by Federated Auto Parts for a contract that would end in 2014. There are other unique aspects of this particular race as well. Since the event in usually held on or near Patriot Day, the Pledge of Allegiance is included as part of the opening ceremony for the event. These and other small changes have made the event not only one of the most important in the Sprint Cup but one of the most unique as well.
The Federated Auto Parts 400 has consistently been one of the biggest and most televised event in the race for the Sprint Cup due to the importance of the standings of this final event. Even with its popularity and its importance many are surprised to find that this race actually features some of the slowest times in all of NASCAR. Due to the course and the 400 laps that need to be competed to finish the race, most drivers average less than 100 mph when completing the race; a stark difference to many other courses. However, even with the slower times, there is no denying the popularity or the excitement that surrounds this epic NASCAR event. With its spot as the remaining race before the final 10 race sprint there is no denying that this race will continue to be one of the most watched in the sport.
