Houston Texans Tickets
The Houston Texans are a professional football team in the National Football League. The team is located in Houston, Texas and play their home games at Reliant Stadium. Reliant Stadium has a capacity of 71,054 and opened in 2002. The team plays in the AFC South division and is currently coached by Gary Kubiak. The team was established in 2001 and replaced the formed Houston area franchise after they moved to Nashville to become the Tennessee Titans.
The team has only featured two different coaches during their short lifespan. Dom Capers was tasked with leading the expansion team for its first four seasons, leading the team to an 18-46 record. Since 2006, Gary Kubiak has coached the team to a 50-49 record including their first division title in 2011. In their 2011 playoff run, the team won its first playoff game, beating the Bengals at home 31-10. In the Divisional round of the playoffs, the team fell to the Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore 20-13.
Since their establishment in 2002, eleven different Texans have been selected to go to the Pro Bowl. Andre Johnson has been selected five times, while Arian Foster, Mario Williams, and DeMeco Ryans were each selected twice. The 2010 Pro Bowl was a banner year for the Texans as they sent four players: Matt Schaub, Andre Johnson, DeMeco Ryans, and Mario Williams, to the Pro Bowl. Four different Texans have been selected to the First Team All-Pro: Jerome Mathis, Arian Foster, Vonta Leach, and Andre Johnson twice in 2008 and 2009. Two different Texans, DeMeco Ryans and Brian Cushing, were selected as Rookie of the Year.
Due to their relative newness, the Texans have only formed one major rival, the Tennessee Titans. This rivalry pits the former Houston Oilers against the current Houston team, the Texans. While the Titans hold a 14-6 lead in the series, it is certainly not without intrigue. In 2010, a fistfight broke out between Texans receiver Andre Johnson and the Titans corner Cortland Finnegan. A much less significant rivalry has begun to form between the Texans and the Colts as both now find themselves in the hunt for the division crown.
