NFL Pro Bowl Game Tickets
The NFL Pro Bowl game is often considered to be one of the most exciting annual events in the National Football League today. This historic event is held as the ‘all-star game’ in the National Football League as it puts the best individual players from each team up against each other in an exciting matchup of the biggest stars and the most talented players in the league. The NFL Pro Bowl game, is also often called the “AFC-NFC Pro Bowl” as it matches up the top players from the two main conferences in the league; the AFC (American Football Conference) and the NFC (National Football Conference).
The pro bowl game started when the American Football League merged with the NFL in 1970 and has been played every year ever since. Since the inception of the NFL Pro Bowl game, being selected to be on this team has been a huge honor for individual players in the sport. The term ‘pro-bowler’ is often used to describe the best of the best in football and many teams vie to have ‘pro-bowl athletes’ on their roster. Currently the players are voted in by the coaches and the league, unlike other ‘all-star formats’ that base player selections off of fan votes.
However, this isn’t the only thing that makes the NFL Pro Bowl different from other all-star match ups in professional sports today. While most professional sports leagues in the United States hold their all-star games around the half-way point of the season, giving the teams a break from their ordinary schedule, the NFL Pro Bowl is actually held at the end of the season. This is done as a way to help players avoid getting injuries during the middle of the season, although many still enter the game, filled with some of the best and hardest hitting players in the league, with concerns over injuries.
While players definitely jump at the chance to be honored as a pro-bowl selected player, the game is just as exciting for fans. The NFL Pro Bowl game is watched more than any other all-star game in professional sports today. The 2012 game drew 13.5 million viewers, all of whom were tuning in to see the best of the best in the NFL duke it out for the coveted trophy and bragging rights offered in this spectacular athletic event.
