The Nashville Predators were founded in 1997. The team finished their first season with a 28–47–7 record. The bright spot for the team came in 2000, when they scored 3 goals in 3 minutes against New York Islanders on February 20. The Nashville finished 10th in the following season with a 34–36–9–3 record. They won their 100th match in 2001-02 season on December 6. By doing so, the team became the second-fastest expansion team of the 1990’s to reach the 100-win plateau. The Predators set an NHL record in 2005–06 season by winning their first four games by one goal each. They also became only the fourth NHL franchise to start the season with 8–0. The Predators finished the season with 106 points. This was the team's first 100-point season. They clinched the first round of the playoffs for the first time. They finished the season with an NHL-best 32–8–1 record at home. The Predators finished the season at fourth place in the Western Conference with a franchise record 110 points in 2006-07 season. The Predators won their first-ever away win in 2009–10 season in the postseason on April 16. They defeated the Blackhawks with 4-1 at their home arena. On April 24, 2011, the Nashville Predators celebrated a team milestone, advancing to the second round of the playoffs for the first time in team's history. They defeated the Anaheim Ducks in front of bustled crowd at Bridgestone Arena. The team won their first-round series in 6 games.
