The Tampa Bay Lightning were formed in 1992. The team played their first match against the Chicago Blackhawks. The Bolts won the game by a score of 7-3. They finished the season with 53 points. This became one of the best showings ever by an NHL expansion team. Player Bradley made a record of scoring 42 goals in 1992-93 season. The Lightning moved to the Eastern Conference's Atlantic Division in the following season. They did not achieve much success in that season. In 1995–96 season, the Tampa Bay lightning qualified for the playoff. Bradley was the lead scorer of the team. The team unfortunately lost to the Philadelphia in the first round but it was still a good season for the team. The Thunderdome crowd of 28,183 on April 23 for the playoff game against the Flyers was the largest crowd for any NHL game. The bolts picked Dino Ciccarelli for the next season. He scored 35 goals in 1996-97 season. After some disappointing seasons, the Lightning bounced back in 2003–04 regular season. They finished with 106 points. This became the second-best record in the league. The team won the Stanley Cup along with conference and division championship in that season.
