UFC 150 Tickets
UFC 150 is an upcoming mixed martial arts event being put on by the Ultimate Fighting Championship, or as it is more commonly known the UFC, on August 11, 2012. The event is slated to take place at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. UFC 1 took place at McNichols Sports Arena in Denver on November 12, 1993, and this will mark the fifth time an event has come to Denver. Currently, eight bouts have been announced including a bout between Benson Henderson and Frankie Edgar for the UFC Lightweight Championship.
Currently on the preliminary card is featherweight Justin Lawrence against Max Holloway as well as featherweights Dennis Bermudez against Tommy Hayden. Also featured on the preliminary card are featherweights Nik Lentz and Elji Mitsuoka as well as middleweights Jared Hamman and Michael Kuiper rounding out the preliminary card. The preliminary card will be shown on FX.
On the main card will be middleweights Yushin Okami against Rousimar Palhares as well as lightweights Dennis Hallman against Thiago Tavares. Tavares has only lost once since 2009, and in three of his four losses, he has earned the Fight of the Night. Middleweights Jake Shields and Ed Herman face off against one another in the penultimate bout. Shields has racked up a 27-6-1 record with three knockouts. Shields lost by decision to Georges St-Pierre in St-Pierre’s home country of Canada for the UFC Welterweight Championship. Herman comes in 20-7 with six knockouts. Herman was a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter 3, losing in the finale by unanimous decision of 29-28 to Kendall Grove; however, Dana White still offered him a contract. Grove has won three fights in a row and has not lost since August 2009.
For the main event, Frankie Edgar is challenging Benson Henderson for the UFC Lightweight Championship. In their last bout, at UFC 144 in Japan, Henderson defeated Edgar by unanimous decision to claim the UFC Lightweight Championship from Edgar. Edgar has compiled a lifetime record of 14-2-1 with three knockouts. Edgar won his title by defeating B.J. Penn by unanimous decision in UFC 112 and proceeded to defend his title three times before relinquishing the title to Henderson. Henderson has compiled a lifetime record of 16-2 with two knockouts. He once held the WEC Lightweight Championship, before joining UFC. Henderson is no stranger to high-profile bouts, having racked up Fight of the Night honors four times between UFC and WEC, including the 2009 Fight of the Year against Donald Cerrone.
