The United States Open Tennis Championships, often known as Flushing Meadows, is one of the most popular and watched hard court tennis tournaments in the professional sport today. The tournament was originally held on grass courts for nearly 100 years and then moved to clay courts for two years in the 1970s before DecoTurf hard courts were decided on.
