This revenue can be largely contributed to the dedicated fan base of the Washington Redskins who have broken the mark for NFL single-season attendance nearly every year in the past decade.
Many know the Redskins for their signature burgundy, gold and white uniforms although the team can also be recognized by their official fight song; “Hail to the Redskins.” The team was the first in the NFL to have their own fight son and the first to ever establish their own marching band. The Washington Redskins, or ‘The Skins’ as many fans call them are also known for their two primary rivalries within the league.
The Redskins have had a rivalry for decades against the Dallas Cowboys and since their rivalry first came to a head in the 1960s; the Redskins have played the Cowboys twice every season. The team also has a heated city rivalry with the Baltimore Ravens. Since the Ravens were established in the late 1990s much of the greater Baltimore/D.C. area, which was once mainly Redskins country, split causing many fans from the Redskins to become Baltimore Ravens fans; this has caused an intense rivalry between the two organizations which has resulted in an annual match up between the two teams; a favorite among fans every year.
