Adirondack Phantoms Tickets
Although they are one of the newest hockey teams to play for the American Hockey League (AHL) the Adirondack Phantoms have already managed to make an impact on the sport. The team, who began their play in the 2009-2010 season are based out of the Glens Falls area of New York, although their new home is considered to be a temporary location. They are affiliated with the NHL hockey team the Philadelphia Flyers as they used to be Philadelphia based and play under the name the Philadelphia Phantoms. However, when this team folded in 2009 a new team, the Adirondack Phantoms was born in this northern area of New York City under new team ownership. The teams popularity shot up even more as of the 2012 season when the NHL put a lock out on teams, helping the Phantoms to get the attention of a great deal of NHL teams as well as their own base of fans.
The Adirondack Phantoms currently play their home games at the Glens Falls Civic Center, the former home of the Adirondack red Wings. However, they won’t be staying in this stadium for long. Starting in the 2013-2014 season, the team will be moving to Allentown, Pennsylvania where they will have their own new 8,500 person arena to play their home games in. The new arena will be in the downtown area of Allentown and until the arena is officially complete the Phantoms will continue to call the New York area of Glens Falls their home.
Currently the Adirondack Phantoms play in the Eastern Conference of the Northeast Division of the league. They can be easily spotted with their orange, black, purple and white uniforms and their large ‘phantom-like’ logo. Currently, the team is owned by the Brooks Group and is supervised under general manager Paul Holmgren and head coach Terry Murray. Since the team emerged under their new title of the Adirondack Phantoms in 2009, they have found a great deal of success with their franchise and continued to build towards winning records in their division; a feat not easy for many new teams. The roster of the team has featured some big name players by AHL standards and players not only from the United States but from Canada, Sweden and Denmark as well all who come together to play under the Phantoms name.
