Boston Bruins History
The Boston Bruins entered into the world of hockey in 1924. They were one of the NHL's first expansion teams. The Bruins played their first match on December 1, 1924 and won by a score of 2–1. They reached the Stanley Cup Final in their third season but unfortunately could not able to won the cup. In 1928-29 season, they won their first Stanley Cup after defeating the New York Rangers. The team entered into the following season riding on success. They posted their best-ever regular season winning percentage in the NHL. The team set a record of winning 38 out of 44 games, a record which still stands. In 1941, the Bruins won their third Stanley Cup. They lost only eight games and finished first in the regular season. After some disappointing seasons, the team recreated the history and won the Stanley Cup in 1970 after defeating the St. Louis Blues in four games in the Final. The team made dozen of offensive records in the following season. They were placed seven at the league's top ten scorers list. The Bruins set the record for wins in a season. They were never seen a 100-point scorer before 1969, the Bruins had four that year. The team won another Stanley Cup in 1971-72 season. In 1974, the Bruins finished at first place in the regular season, with three 100-point scorers on the team. The team finished their last season 2010-2011 winning another Stanley Cup. They have won six Stanley Cups since their establishment. The Bruins play their home games at TD Garden.
