Charlotte Bobcats Tickets
Although the Charlotte Bobcats are one of the newest teams in the NBA today, this professional basketball team from the city of Charlotte, North Carolina has made a major impact on the league as they slowly develop into an outstanding league organization. The Charlotte Bobcats were added to the city of Charlotte in 2004 as an expansion team. This news came two seasons after the former Charlotte NBA team the Charlotte Hornets relocated to the city of New Orleans. This occasion was a momentous one for fans from the city of Charlotte who were openly devastated when their city’s NBA team left the North Carolina town.
In addition to making history with this move, the team has also made history with its owner, and is one of the only professional sports franchises to be owned entirely by a former professional sports player. This history was made when legendary basketball star bought the team outright in 2010. The team, which can be seen in their navy and orange uniforms whenever they play, may have a unique history but their time as an organization today is still making an impact on the league.
Currently the Charlotte Bobcats play in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference in the NBA. They play their home games in downtown Charlotte, North Carolina at the Time Warner Cable Arena; an arena build specifically for the team. They moved to this arena after leaving the Charlotte Coliseum in 2005. Although they have yet to win a division title or an NBA championship they made league history when they qualified for the post season during their 2009-2010 season; for the first time. The team has had a number of well known players on their roster during the years and have had special look with many of their rookies Emeka Okafor joined the team in 2005 when he won rookie of the year and they have also had players such as D.j> Augustin, Walter Hermann, Adam Morrison and Raymond Felton who all had breakout rookie seasons with the Charlotte Bobcats. With this ability to draft new rookie talent and the leadership of some of the greatest basketball aficionados in the league, it is clear to see there is great promise ahead for the Charlotte Bobcats as they work to solidify themselves as a truly outstanding NBA organization.
